ALÉ AND TOTA PRESENT THE SCARPONI JERSEY

A celebratory jersey, a tribute to the great cyclist who died in 2017. It will be awarded to the most combative rider in the 2022 Tour of The Alps.

The Michele Scarponi jersey is a celebratory jersey and was created in collaboration with the Fondazione Michele Scarponi ONLUS. It is dedicated to the great cyclist from Marche, who lost his life just a few days after winning the 2017 edition of the Tour of The Alps. Created starting from Alé's PR.R line, the collection that includes all those garments designed for maximum cycling performance, the "Michele Scarponi" jersey for the Tour of The Alps is a technical garment, but one that follows the classic style of formal jerseys, with long sleeves and a long zip on the back.

The jersey is made of bright yellow and has the effigy of the inseparable parrot Franky, who used to follow Michele in all his training sessions, on the chest at heart level. On the right hand side, however, is one of the great rider's most famous phrases:

"Ride a bike, have fun, chase a dream because maybe sometimes the dream comes true!"

The jersey will be awarded on 22 April, in Lienz, Austria, the finishing stage of the TOTA. It will be given to the rider who has shown the most fight throughout the event. The jury that will award the special jersey will be composed of journalists, personalities, Tour of The Alps organizers and Alé managers.

The award ceremony will follow an extra-protocol procedure, as this is not an official UCI Tour of The Alps jersey, but a celebratory tribute to the rider from the Marche region. "Michele has been and will always be in the heart of anyone who loves cycling - said Alessia Piccolo, CEO of APG, the company that owns Alé - A great man, a great rider, a simple and spontaneous person, who was able to give us unforgettable moments of sport. This jersey is a small tribute and we are honoured to have made it, adhering to the initiative of the TOTA organisation, together with the Michele Scarponi Foundation".
