Bahrain Victorious chiude un Giro d'Italia storico

Bahrain Victorious finishes a historic Giro d'Italia

Team Bahrain Victorious concluded a memorable 2026 Giro d'Italia in Rome, capped by Afonso Eulálio’s victory in the White Jersey and a prestigious sixth place in the general classification.

This result confirms the progress made by the young Portuguese talent and the excellent work carried out by the entire team over the three weeks of racing.

As the team’s technical partner and official supplier of bespoke race kits, Alé Cycling has supported Bahrain Victorious throughout the Giro d’Italia, contributing its expertise in the development of high-performance clothing designed to withstand the most demanding conditions of WorldTour competitions.

For Bahrain Victorious, the finish in the Eternal City marked the conclusion of one of the most significant Grand Tours of recent years. Eulálio wore the prestigious Maglia Rosa for nine days, led the young rider classification from the fifth stage right through to the final podium in Rome, and finished the race by claiming the Maglia Bianca as best young rider.

In his second appearance at the Giro d’Italia, the Portuguese rider demonstrated great maturity and resilience, defending his lead in the young rider classification even during the decisive Alpine stages and finishing the race in sixth place overall.

At the end of the final stage, Eulálio spoke emotionally about the result he had achieved:

"This Giro is something I will never forget. After such a gruelling final week, and especially after yesterday’s stage, I wasn’t feeling at my best and I wasn’t always sure I’d make it. But the whole team believed in me, even when I had my doubts, and that gave me a lot of strength to keep fighting right to the end. Damiano was very important to me. I’d told him that if he felt better than me, he could ride his own race, but he chose to stay by my side at all times. That gave me great confidence during a very difficult phase of the race.

Finishing this Giro in the White Jersey, after wearing the Pink Jersey for so many days, and seeing both Damiano and myself in the top 10 of the general classification is something truly special. We’ve suffered a lot over these three weeks, but arriving in Rome with such an important result is a source of great pride for the whole team."
