SONNY COLBRELLI CAPSULE
Previewed during the Italian Bike Festival 2023 in Misano, Italy, Sonny's first Capsule Collection could only be Alé. Jersey and shorts combine graphics, technicality and feature references to the career of this famous champion, always so loved by Italian cyclists.
On the occasion of the Italian Bike Festival in Misano (15-18 September 2023), Alé launches the Capsule Collection dedicated to one of the most beloved champions of Italian cycling: Sonny Colbrelli. Sonny certainly needs no introduction: in his ten years as a professional cyclist he was European Champion, Italian Champion and won the toughest of the Northern Classics: the Paris-Roubaix.
His splendid career inspired the Capsule Collection designed by Alé for the champion. Conceived on the garments of the Alé PR-R line, dedicated to professional cycling, the “Sonny Colbrelli Capsule Collection” proposes a short-sleeved jersey and bibshorts outfit.
The jersey, suitable for a temperature range of 18° to 32° C, has a very elegant graphic design, played out in shades of grey and black. The famous logo with the cobra, Colbrelli's nickname, stands out on the right. On the back, a long stripe that starts at the neck and ends at the bottom of the jersey shows Sonny’s aforementioned victories. Designed using body-mapping technology, the jersey is made from 4 different fabrics strategically positioned to achieve the right balance between comfort and performance. The front panel in MICROFORATED LIGHT is quickly drying fabrics that is breathable and that allows excellent ventilation. The back of the jersey is made of very light, stretchy and cool GEO LIGHT fabric; the sides are made of PIUMA mesh to help wick away perspiration. Lastly, the raw-cut sleeves, in AERO MINI RIB fabric, have a channeled structure that lets air out, eliminating drag and favouring aerodynamics. Attention to safety on the road could not be overlooked, and it is ensured by reflective details.
The bib-shorts are a multi-panelled summer garment, offering adequate muscle support. The central part of the crotch is made of MATRIX fabric, a certified Lycra with high density and multi-directional elasticity, with a calendered surface that favours adherence to the saddle. The "Leg Comfort System" technology on the rear bottom allows the shorts to adapt to different muscle conformations while riding. The "S-Stability System" contoured insert with slight silicon dots ensures crease-free stability and further promotes aerodynamics. The microfibre bib straps give a pleasant hand feel and maximum adherence to the body, while the back/lumbar part in elasticated mesh promotes breathability and instant drying. The special 4HF pad offers calibrated support to the most stressed areas. It was applied with “Tri-Stitch” stitching, that improves elasticity and reduces tearing due to wear.
